JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

Starbucks – Albion street – Leeds 6.5/10
Despite its apparent un ethical bad press I’ve never found that they are money grabbing at all in store. Often supporting charities like LGBT and various others this kinda offsets any ill feeling.
The Starbucks app is good but you have to drink an awfull lot of coffee before you become a gold member. That said the Albion street branch seems to be a good vibe place. Good customer service and plenty of different types of seating. Add the often well Chosen music is a good recommendation.

Cafe Nero – Park Row 7/10
Seating is nice and the outside area allows you to watch the world go buy for a moment just by the town hall.  Handy feature in the app that you can gift a coffee too. There is a couple of Cafe Neros in Leeds and all of them provide a great service.  Definitely a favourite.

JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

Greggs Leeds a fair 6/10.
The Greg’s restaurant opposite boots and Starbucks in Leeds town centre was quite above my expectations on a recent visit.  It’s quite modern, moderately clean and tidy although a little understaffed.
What’s more is if you have the o2 priority app you can get a free coffee most days of the week and free sausage rolls, pizza or a bap on weekends. This doesn’t include Sunday. There is a Greggs app too.
It’s obviously popular as I had to joint a long que to get my coffee. I got the cappuccino and only waited just under a minute for it to arrive.
Served at a good temperature but in a take away cup with no recycle ♻️ bin in sight. To be honest I have had better instant coffee. I suppose it’s ideal for a quick coffee fix but is not exactly a Luxury experience.

JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

KULT coffee (Independant) 7/10
Opposite the corn exchange and  Opened in Early August 2022 I thought I’d go for one of their flavoured coffees. A pistachio latte. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised it was a real treat.
The owner has stepped away from the usual north brew coffee that most Independents use and has decided on a company which is a Turkish independant.
Great medium roast served at an excellent temperature. I sat on a a little table and chairs outside and watched the world go by. The inside is much a student vibe.
It’s a little pricey for the flavoured stuff at 4.50 but I have to say the coffee was certainly up there at the top for taste.

Weatherspoons –  Leeds Park Row 1/10
£1.25 for free refillable coffee? I thought I’d try the decaf cappuccino. It was not good , about a third of the way down it started to taste a little like warm vomit. I left – Nothing to write home about.

JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

Artisan Coffee Chiswick 8/10
Chiswick .
A busy place on a Saturday at around 15:30 and with only one member of staff on he done well to serve me in a reasonable time. Not nice cups was asked if I minded having a take out cup. Didn’t really have a choice did I .
Nevertheless the decor was nice and I like the idea of a water station to cleanse the palette before delivery.  The dusting of chocolate was delicately done , not too much or too little.
Served at good temperature the coffee has a lovely caramel note to it. Also, they have their own coffee school.  The music was at a reasonable level, enough to tap your foot to or have a conversation.
I ordered a decaf cappuccino made with oat milk. Made with oatly barista milk, this seemed to compliment the coffee.  I sipped slowly as it had quite a nice after taste unlike some coffees . I was impressed with the SCA sign on their training courses. Speciality Coffee Association. The coffee was rich in taste without that muddy taste you get from chain cafes.
60 percent Brazilian and 40 percent Colombian at £3.70 per coffee its well worth the price.  Almost a fudge like taste at times, a delicious sweetness that won’t need sugar if you ordinarily have sugar .

Coffee Ology  Chiswick 7.5/10
I expected good things from this coffee with a name like coffeeology. Served in a nice cup and at a cooler temperature than I prefer although the blend was quite pleasant and not burned which was nice.
To be honest though it didn’t taste too much different from a cafe Nero and although reasonably priced I expected a little more in terms of flavour.
Not a sweet coffee so I added half a sugar but it still didn’t rock my world.
I have to say the service was very good. The coffee was brought to my table in the back room minutes after purchase and when Inasked for the wi fi code it arrived immediately.
A dog friendly coffee house playing quite cool music.

Famingos 8/10
This LGBT+ community friendly cafe is the perfect location to get a little you time.  I’ve been a few times now.  The service is always very frinedly and accommodating.  Coffe served in a nice cup with notes of caramel and a smotth richness that should delight.  The decor is warm and friendly too.  A menu that suits most palettes and a notice board with various info about upcoming events.  There is no judgement in this cafe.  No sexuality issues and perfect for any Englishman in Leeds.
Clean, tranquil with some nice music that’s not too loud.

PALM LYTHAM – 8/10
A very well presented and good cuppa Joe here.  The outside areas is lovely.  The service was great. At one point two waitresses at the table serving.  Coffee had caramel and plum notes.   Value for money.

LEEDS CITY COUNCIL LIBRARY – TILED HALL CAFE – 8.5/10
Although on this occasion I had tea instead of coffee this place is still worthy of a Juney Baby review.  A wonderful art-deco cafe which comes with service that smiles.  The tea was well presented in a tray and at a decent temperature. I have visited the cafe a few times over the years and there is always a sense of calm with a studious vibe.
The cutlery and crockery are always nipping clean.

JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

LEON @ LEEDS CENTRAL STATION 7.8/10
Ordered the cinnamon swirl as I am a big fan of cinnamon as a healthier chocolate alternative.  Fair organic trade coffee gets a big plus.  Temperature was perhaps a little on the Luke warm side however, I the preference not to burn the coffee was also appreciated.  The taste was good, I got a warm cinnamon bun vibe.  Smooth and not too much foam is also a big winner here.  A not of toffee.  I did add one green sweetner so the pure taste could have been affected slightly.
I sat in the tables outside and the environment was quite pleasant.  The echo of train announcements and some easy listening music from inside could be heard.  Not a cheap cuppa and I did wonder if I might have a better experience in a mug.

92 DEGREES, BOAR LANE 8/10

Service was pretty average and quite slow although they do open at 07:00 which is ideal for the early riser amongst us. They also have a coffee club too for the enthusiasts. Inside is basic and walls could do with a lick of paint.

Nice art on the walls, which is pretty cool. 😎.

I ordered a flat white which was served at a good temperature for me. Good taste and the perfect amount of froth. At 3.30 a cup it’s definitely good VFM .

JUNEY BABY LTD COFFEE REVIEW

RAW COFFEE 8.5/10

Nic place and friendly staff. Coffee served very quickly . Tunes played at a reasonable audio level.

A good aroma of fresh lively coffee. Smooth with not too much throth. Hint of fruity note detected. Perfect temperature, this nutty blend from Rotterdam gives further kudos to the Colombian blend.

The baristas know what they are doing , giving customers confidence in their purchase.
